Getting to Know Me Wednesday - The Flu

Holly high fever batman I had the flu. I can’t remember the last time I had the flu. Honestly I think I was in twelfth grade. So that was like what 5 years ago. LOL!

So yeah, I am trying to recover. Back to work and back to crazy kid schedules. Yeah!

But I have inspiration for two new books.
“How to lose 5 pounds in 4 days on the Kool Aid and butter toast diet”
“How to get killer abs by coughing your guts out for four days straight….and counting”

So yeah, the body aches and the inability to lift my head from my pillow are gone, but I am left with this nagging cough. A cough that I have a feeling is going to become my worst enemy over the next few weeks. I haven’t gone to a spin class in over a week. I start coaching volleyball next week. No time to be sick. When I coach I like to work out with the girls. If I make them run sprints, I run with them. If they do pushups, I do them with them. Kind of hard to do that when your lung is on the ground in front of you from just coughing it out! I am sure it will start to clear up soon, but for now I am thinking there is no end in sight.

Some things I learned while I was sick.

My theory about if I don’t do it know one will was proved.
Dishes were not washed, laundry piled up and no one picked up…well anything. Grrrr!

I am thankful for cell phones.
I was able to call my hubby downstairs whenever I needed anything.

3 and 4 year olds are not reliable message deliverers…hence having to use the cell phone.

4 year olds will use you as an excuse to get their dad to make them raviolis. As if she needed an excuse, but she did tell her dad I wanted them. Then as he was making them she said, do you think I could eat those. He was on to her from the beginning, but played along.

Just because you are sleeping does not mean that you should be allowed to sleep….even when sick. You are allowed to be awoken at any time. Even if it’s to ask you if you’re hungry. Note to hubby. If I am sleeping chances are I’m not hungry…especially not for raviolis.

So yeah, after a lovely weekend of my head on my pillow I am finally starting to feel better.

What’s this mean? My princess unit is now behind.

But I am able to stand up and do dishes and the laundry and all that fun stuff that I for sure was missing out on.

It’s time for a chore chart in our house.

Everyone stay healthy.
