Princess Frog Counting Cards

Okay, I might be crazy but I think this is cuter than the princess hats.
I love the frogs!
I usually try to post new activities on Fridays, but I just couldn't wait.

There are cards number 0 -10.
I have supplied enough flies for about 25 clothes pins.

You can cut the flies out and just have your child rest them on the card.
You could also attach one fly to a mini-clothespin and have your
kiddo clip enough pins to the card to match the number.
My kids seem to enjoy the clipping better than plain old counting.
But they're high maintenance and require lots of stuff to keep their attention.

Please let me know what you think!
Are you loving this clip art as much as I am?
I might be super geeked, but I just can't help myself.

How do I reply?

Can someone please tell me how to reply to comments?
I mean so that you know I replied to them.
Am I missing a setting somewhere or am I just that clueless?
Help :)

ABC Fairy Princess Party Hat Match

Okay! Here is my first project with my new clip art!
It really is soooo cute.
Sorry to the mommas with boys.
I am working on a superhero theme next.
You'll just have to put up with princesses for a while.

This game is perfect for helping your kiddos match uppercase and lowercase letters.
You can laminate the sheets with the princesses.
You can laminate the hat sheet too.
Up to you.

I am funny about cutting stuff out.
I like things to matchy match and line up correctly.
So when you cut the hats out instead of cutting the entire hat along the lines, just cut the bottom of the hat along the line so that is lays nicely on the head. You can leave a white circle around the top half of it.
Did that make sense?

Princess Theme Odds and Ends

These are the last of the Princess Unit.
In two weeks I will start the Superhero Unit.
Here's a little sneak peak.

I have been working on a little Princess themed birthday package.
I've never done a package like this,
so I thought I'd use my readers as guinea pigs.

Thanks Guinea Pigs

The package will include:
Favor Tags
2 Different Party Invites
Happy Birthday Banner
Cupcake Toppers
Cupcake wrappers
Favor Bag Tags
Food table "signs"
And anything else I come up with between now and then.

Now that the Princess Unit is finished up I'd love to hear your thoughts.

ABC BINGO - LOWERCASE

Remember this game from a month or so ago?
A reader asked if I had it available in lowercase.
Well, I didn't.
But I do now.

The lesson here is do NOT be afraid to ask me for something.
I love making this stuff.
Sometimes my creativity is lacking.
So if you suggest it, chances are I will find a way to make it!

Enjoy!

Getting to Know Me Wednesday - The Flu

Holly high fever batman I had the flu. I can’t remember the last time I had the flu. Honestly I think I was in twelfth grade. So that was like what 5 years ago. LOL!

So yeah, I am trying to recover. Back to work and back to crazy kid schedules. Yeah!

But I have inspiration for two new books.
“How to lose 5 pounds in 4 days on the Kool Aid and butter toast diet”
“How to get killer abs by coughing your guts out for four days straight….and counting”

So yeah, the body aches and the inability to lift my head from my pillow are gone, but I am left with this nagging cough. A cough that I have a feeling is going to become my worst enemy over the next few weeks. I haven’t gone to a spin class in over a week. I start coaching volleyball next week. No time to be sick. When I coach I like to work out with the girls. If I make them run sprints, I run with them. If they do pushups, I do them with them. Kind of hard to do that when your lung is on the ground in front of you from just coughing it out! I am sure it will start to clear up soon, but for now I am thinking there is no end in sight.

Some things I learned while I was sick.

My theory about if I don’t do it know one will was proved.
Dishes were not washed, laundry piled up and no one picked up…well anything. Grrrr!

I am thankful for cell phones.
I was able to call my hubby downstairs whenever I needed anything.

3 and 4 year olds are not reliable message deliverers…hence having to use the cell phone.

4 year olds will use you as an excuse to get their dad to make them raviolis. As if she needed an excuse, but she did tell her dad I wanted them. Then as he was making them she said, do you think I could eat those. He was on to her from the beginning, but played along.

Just because you are sleeping does not mean that you should be allowed to sleep….even when sick. You are allowed to be awoken at any time. Even if it’s to ask you if you’re hungry. Note to hubby. If I am sleeping chances are I’m not hungry…especially not for raviolis.

So yeah, after a lovely weekend of my head on my pillow I am finally starting to feel better.

What’s this mean? My princess unit is now behind.

But I am able to stand up and do dishes and the laundry and all that fun stuff that I for sure was missing out on.

It’s time for a chore chart in our house.

Everyone stay healthy.

Preview of what I am working on. Princess Theme!

I am very excited to be working on a
Princess Theme set of printables!

My clip art comes from the cutest little Etsy shop.

Here's a little blurb from their shop:
"Our Etsy shop is run by two artists (Melinda and Melissa) who have a passion for peachy keen art. We're full-time artists with over 8 years of graphic design experience. We strongly believe in creating graphics which are fun, original, high quality, and affordable. Outstanding customer service is a top priority!"

I do have to say that my FREE printables are not for
commercial use or to be resold.
But they have given me permission to use their clip art in my
printables and share them for FREE with my readers!

So I am just getting started on this package but I am loving the clip art so much that I think I will have a lot done by the end of next week.

If anyone would like to share suggestions for things you'd like to see created leave me a comment.

I am always open to any and all suggestions.

Valentine Cards - Perfect for a Small Gift

Isn't Lil' Sis cute?
Like her barrette?
I made a bunch of these for her dance class.
She's giving them to the girls for Valentine's Day.
There are two boys in her class.
So we made dinosaurs for their zippers.

You can find the tutorial for the barrette at purlbee.
They have a lot of great tutorials there.

I sort of made the dinosaur up.
I couldn't find a tutorial anywhere,
but I had seen them around the web.
I sketched out the shape I wanted and made my template.
I traced the template onto two pieces of light green felt.
I placed the dark green spikes in between the two pieces of light green that make up the body.
I stitched around with embroidery floss
leaving a small opening at the end.
I squeezed a little stuffing in and closed up the opening.

To attach the clip for the zipper I used the floss again.
I looped it through the clip and tied the threads into a large knot.
I'd say I used about 2" of thread for this.
I sewed about 1/4" of the end to the back of the dino,
leaving the knot at the bottom to keep it secure.

Sorry my directions are rough.
I have to remember to take pictures of the process.
I actually put these together at my daughter's volleyball clinic and I didn't have my camera with me.
Not a good planner am I?

Below is the link for the Valentine Cards.

Lil' Sis is excited to give these to the kids in her class.
We are finishing up the big flower for her teacher tonight.
I'll try to post a picture of that...I just need to figure out how I am going to make it.

Getting to Know Me Wednesday - Christmas Confession

It’s confession time for this gal.

It is February 2nd and I still have not taken my Christmas decorations down.

That’s right. Not just my tree, but everything. My garland, my two mini-trees, my stockings, my advent calendar, my figurines, my little ceramic village and the cute little people, and other various little Christmasy crafts.

I’d like to say it’s because I have been so busy and haven’t had a chance. But I’ve had my share of lazy days in jammies that I could have been wrapping ornaments and packing stuff away instead of sitting in the lazy boy or napping on the love seat. No I don’t do this all the time. But that rare chance that I have to do these things, the last thing I want to do is put stuff away. Especially when that stuff makes my otherwise bare living room decorative. When we put everything away the living room looks so bare and lonely and uninviting. It’s so plain. Beige walls and an old couch that smells. Little piles of toys and stacks of books on the coffee table are all you see.

So as part of this confession I am making it my goal this year to spruce up the living room. (After I get it back to its boring state that is!) We already decided to wait a year to buy a couch. We are waiting until Lil’ Bro is completely potty trained and the dog is no longer with us. Granted that dog could probably live quite a while longer…but she likes to sneak on the couch at night. I’m not buying a new couch for that dog to sleep on. So until then I will continue to febreeze it on a daily basis. The couch is also Lil’ Bro favorite napping spot.  I don’t understand how he can sleep all night without wetting himself…but the boy takes a 1.5 hour nap and he pees all over the place. What’s up with that?

I remember when we first bought our house. I picked out what I thought was an awesome shade of dark beige. Yeah, not so much. Just beige. Boring beige. I plan on finding a bolder color, maybe a darker beige J, making some art/decorations for the walls and hanging more pictures.

No longer will I just settle for a boring living room. My kids are getting older. They are learning self control. Hopefully they are over coloring on the walls and jumping on the couch. Is that wishful thinking?

I’m thinking my colors will focus around brown/chocolate, beige of course and maybe a splash of turquoise or green. Our house was built in 1880 and still has the original woodwork. It’s dark too. So I have to work with that, because there is no way I am doing anything to that woodwork.

I already finished one small project. I keep thinking I will wait until it is completely complete to showcase it...but I might just have to snap a picture of it tonight and post it. Just to prove I was motivated to do something!

I was really hoping for an adult snow day today so I could sit in the lazy boy in my jammies take the tree down...but no such luck. I had to go to work.

Here's hoping that tree comes down this weekend!
And after reviewing the post that I actually started yesterday...let's hope I find a chance to wipe the fingerprints off the window and straighten the curtain. Oh well...that's my life.

Broken Hearts Puzzle and Bonus Match Game

My latest download is a Broken Hearts Puzzle Game.
There are numbers 1 -10.
Cut out the hearts, then cut them along the dotted line down the middle.
Your kiddo can count the dots on each half to match the puzzle pieces.

I hate to waste paper, and there are only two puzzle hearts on the second page.
So I added a small heart shaped match game to the second page.
You get two games for one with this download.
Print two copies of the second page to have a set for matching.

Let me know if this is useful.
Do you like that I included the same number of dots on each half of the hearts?
